Google Wave

First, has anyone gotten an invite and tried it out? If so, what are your thoughts?

From the Wikipedia article, it sounds like Google is looking to eventually replace the email protocol with the Wave protocol ("Google hopes that waves may replace e-mail as the dominant form of Internet communication"). I think this would be a pretty amazing change, actually. Even though it's not been around forever, it seems like email has been around forever, if you know what I mean.
Wave to me seems kind of like Gmail on steroids.

One offering as to how Wave works and can be used is present in this video (WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE). I found it is very well done and really clarifies what this whole Wave thing is.
I have not seen the movie, believe if or not!

"What?"

SAY YOU HAVEN'T SEEN PULP FICTION AGAIN!

PS - Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are probably the only two films of his I'd recommend. Go rent them this weekend. Good stuff.

Since the waves are going to be stored on a centralized server (i.e. a Google server), I don't see it catching on as an industry standard, beyond being a useful gimmick for current Gmail users.
