STS-120: Launch Day
Commander Ready
At NASA's Kennedy Space Center, STS-120 Commander Pamela Melroy - the second woman ever to command a space shuttle - suits up in her orange pressure suit before heading to Launch Pad 39A for launch aboard space shuttle Discovery to the International Space Station on Oct. 23, 2007. Her STS-120 crew will deliver the new Harmony Module and a crewmember to the International Space Station.
